Briefly: Noridian Publishes Ostomy Supplies FAQs, Closes Prior Authorization Hotline
Featuring Noridian Healthcare Solutions.

January 2, 2026 by Laurie Watanabe

Noridian Publishes Updated Ostomy Supplies Info

Noridian Healthcare Solutions, the Jurisdictions A and D DME MAC, has published a new ostomy supplies FAQ page that answers questions such as how many ostomy sleeves can be provided and billed per month by durable medical equipment suppliers; how long to maintain patient medical records to demonstrate medical necessity or presence of a stoma; and the documentation required to establish initial need for ostomy supplies.

According to the home health final rule published in late November, ostomy supplies will be among the product categories included when the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) resumes its Medicare competitive bidding program.

Noridian Closes Pre-Claim Prior Auth, ADMC Hotline

The DME MAC contractor for Jurisdictions A and D has closed down its pre-claim hotline for providers calling regarding prior authorization or Advance Determination of Medicare Coverage (ADMC) issues.

Noridian Healthcare Solutions announced that the hotline was shut down as of Jan. 1, 2026, and that providers should instead call the Supplier Contact Center at (866) 419-9458.
