NHIA Announces 2025 Fellows

The National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) has announced its 2025 Class of Fellows.

“The prestigious NHIA Fellow Program aims to advance the home and alternate site infusion profession by recognizing the contributions and achievements of highly accomplished individuals,” the organization said in a February announcement. “NHIA Fellow status is awarded to members who have successfully demonstrated a commitment to the field for at least seven years, have a record of sustained involvement and leadership within NHIA, and have been actively involved in educating practitioners and others.”

The 2025 Fellows are Michael Bedenbaugh, PharmD, MBA, MS, director of pharmacy services; Intramed Plus; Ryan Garst, PharmD, MBA, IgCP, BCSCP, vice president of pharmacy; Nutrishare; Lisa Kinder, RD, CNSC, clinical program manager; Optum Infusion Pharmacy; and Karen Martin, MA, RDN, LD, FAND, FASPEN, director of sales learning and development, Amerita Specialty Infusion.

“Congratulations to this year’s fellows,” said NHIA President/CEO Connie Sullivan, BSPharm, in the announcement. “Now in its fifth year, this program recognizes the most highly accomplished professionals in home infusion today. This year’s honorees are exemplary of skilled and thoughtful leaders who are committed to the patients and organizations they serve, as well as the industry overall through their support of NHIA.”

ZZZzzzzz: World Sleep Day Focuses on the Power of Restorative Rest

Image of a young man's head and face as he reclines on a pillow. His eyes are closed, but his hand is over his forehead as to indicate fatigue.Friday, March 14, is World Sleep Day, devoted to raising awareness of the power of a good night’s rest, as well as how our well-being can be affected by poor-quality sleep.

In February, ResMed released the results of its fifth annual Global Sleep Survey, which drew 30,000 participants and concluded that we’re “losing an average of nearly three nights of restorative sleep each week.” The survey found that 89% of participants “believe sleep makes them feel better about themselves, but only 24% would take immediate action to address sleep issues.”

“Sleep is as vital to health as diet and exercise, yet millions struggle in silence,” said Carlos M. Nunez, M.D., ResMed’s chief medical officer. “This research highlights an urgent gap in awareness and action — one that needs immediate attention, to improve global health outcomes.”

Read the survey results, and visit the World Sleep Day 2025 website for resources on how to “Make Sleep Health a Priority,” which is this year’s theme.
