AARC Opens Disaster Relief Fund Following Texas Floods

The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) is accepting grant applications to its disaster relief fund for association members impacted by the Texas Hill Country floods that began July 4.

“AARC members living in officially declared disaster areas in this stat may apply for a grant of up to $500 online or by mail,” the association said in a July 9 press release. “We ask that if you know of a fellow member who has been affected, please relay this message to them, as they may not have access to the internet.”

The AARC is also taking donations to the fund. On July 14, news agency Reuters reported the official death toll from the flooding had reached 131, with nearly 100 people still missing. More flooding was forecast this week by the National Weather Service due to anticipated heavy rains.
