Briefly: AAHomecare Preparing for Office Move; KFF Poll Reveals Medicare, Medicaid Popularity
Featuring the American Association for Homecare and KFF.

January 28, 2025 by Laurie Watanabe

AAHomecare Moving to New Office in February

The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) will have a new office address starting Feb. 3. The new address is 2611 S. Clark St., Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22022.

“The move downsizes our already-small office footprint, as the AAHomecare staff embraces the remote work environment — and reduces our office rental costs by 80%, allowing us to deploy more resources to HME policy priorities,” the organization said in a Jan. 22 bulletin. “The new location should also allow us to hold more of our council meetings on site, thanks to a larger conference room at the new location, adding even more savings to the equation.”

AAHomecare said its new headquarters is less than a mile south of its current location.

KFF Poll: Medicare, Medicaid Remain Hugely Popular with Public

The latest KFF (formerly Kaiser Family Foundation) poll shows that as a new administration takes over in Washington, D.C., Americans hold strongly favorable views of both Medicare and Medicaid, regardless of political party affiliation.

KFF said its polling results, released Jan. 17, asked if respondents had a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Medicare; 82% said favorable, and 18% said unfavorable.

And 77% of respondents said they have very or somewhat favorable views of Medicaid.

Respondents identifying as Democrats had more favorable views of both Medicare (90%) and Medicaid (87%) than those identifying as Republicans (75% and 63%, respectively). Respondents identifying as independents had favorable scores of 84% and 81%, respectively.

Asked if the government is spending too much, not enough, or about the right amount on Medicare and Medicaid, 51% of respondents said “not enough.”

More than 1,300 adults in the United States participated in the poll, conducted Jan. 7-14. KFF is an independent source for health policy research, polling and journalism.
