Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) industry veteran Mickae Lee, the Associate Director of NCART, is leaving the organization.
In a Dec. 15 announcement, NCART said Lee was leaving at the end of the year, but would “remain in the industry, working in a government relations capacity.”
While Lee began as a full-time NCART employee in 2013, she has done work on behalf of NCART since 2009. Lee served as NCART’s Director of Medicaid Affairs and its Director of Advocacy and Communication before becoming the organization’s Associate Director at the start of 2021.
“She will be missed,” the announcement said.
“It has been a privilege to be part of the NCART team, and I am beyond grateful for the opportunities and experiences I’ve been afforded during my time here,” Lee said in the announcement. “It is a true honor to be surrounded by such an incredible group of fellow advocates and, though I am beginning another chapter of my career, I will remain a fierce supporter of this work.”
The announcement noted that Lee contributed to industry efforts ranging from obtaining a permanent Medicare competitive bidding exemption for CRT to developing a national CRT service and repair reform strategy. Lee also managed and operated the industry’s annual Congressional Fly-In and National CRT Awareness Week programs.
Wayne Grau, NCART’s Executive Director, said in the announcement, “Mickae has dedicated her career to advocating for Complex Rehab issues, and while this is a sad day for NCART, we are very happy that she will remain in the industry and play a pivotal role in developing our focused strategy on payment and reimbursement issues for suppliers and manufacturers.”
NCART President Greg Packer said, “We wish Mickae well in her new role and look forward to working closely with her as she transitions.”
The organization is now recruiting a Payer Relations Manager to continue the effort of “pursuing payment for non-covered services and reimbursement relief at the state level as a primary focus in 2024.”
