AAHomecare Releases Fee Schedule Analysis
Association tabulates average rate increase for the top 25 DME items impacted by CMS’s recently announced 2023 fee schedule.

The American Association for Homecare has released its analysis for the top 25 DME items impacted by CMS’s recently released 2023 DMEPOS fee schedule.
On Tuesday, CMS unveiled its 2023 DMEPOS fee schedule, and it reflected the 6.4 percent and 9.1 percent adjustments that the agency had previously announced on Dec. 1.
AAHomecare’s analysis of the top 25 DME items shows the following average rate increases for CY 2022 compared to rates currently in place:
- Reimbursement for competitive bidding program items in former competitive bidding areas (CBAs) will increase by and average of 6.4 percent (ranging from a 5.1 percent to a 7.5 percent boost).
- Bidding items in non-rural areas will see an average 8.7 percent increase (ranging from a 6.3 percent to a 10.2 percent gain).
- Bidding items in rural areas will see an average 8.4 increase (ranging a from 4.2 percent to 8.9 percent adjustment).
