Medtrade, the industry’s annual conference and expo event, which is produced by trade events company Emerald.
Previously an account executive with the show, Schwab replaces Mark Lind, who has pursued another career opportunity.
“Mark was a huge part of our team who taught me a lot,” Schwab said. “He will certainly be missed.”
Schwab assumes the director role as the event prepares for its 2021 season, in which it was slated to host the first edition of its re-branded Medtrade West event (previously Medtrade Spring) at the Phoenix Ariz. Convention Center on April 12-14.
COVID-19 recently forced Emerald to cancel its Medtrade 2020 in-person event, which was slated for Nov. 2-4 at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center. Instead, the company hosted Medtrade Virtual, an online event Nov. 4-5.
“There has also been a lot of change in the industry, and I think Medtrade still has bright days ahead,” he noted. “We know that, moving forward, our industry is going to be more important than ever.”
