Pacey MedTech Unveils UI Device for Prostate Cancer Patients

Designed to help men who suffer urinary incontinence after prostate cancer surgery, the fully adjustable device stops leakages.

Pacey MedTech Ltd., which specializes in male urinary incontinence control devices and products for men who have undergone prostate cancer surgery, has debuted the Pacey Cuff Ultra.

The Pacey Cuff Ultra is an updated urethral control device (UCD) that aims to offer an effective, durable, and easy-to-use solution to urinary incontinence (UI) in men. The Pacey Cuff Ultra uses technology to comfortably reduce or eliminate male UI by compressing the urethra and blocking unwanted urine flow, while still protecting the blood circulation in the topside of the penis to eliminate possible blood supply restriction pain and damage to the penis.

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among American men behind skin cancer, and the American Cancer Society estimated that in 2020, 191,930 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Of the men who undergo a radical prostatectomy, 10 to 20 percent experience frequent leakage or no bladder control one-year after their prostate cancer surgery.

“Stress urinary incontinence is one of the greatest challenges for men post-prostatectomy,” said Dr. Daniel Rapoport, Urologist. “Over the past 50 years, men with incontinence have had to depend on adult diapers and pads, external catheters, leg bags, and more recently, medication and penile clamps. These options are not ideal as they can be costly, leak, have odor, and be painful.”

The newly designed Pacey Cuff Ultra was created with extra neoprene padding, and a robust anti-pinch flap at the strap guide to protect the skin. The Pacey Cuff Ultra is fully adjustable. It can be worn daily for six to eight months, which dramatically reduces disposable pad expenses and waste. The patented design protects circulation to ensure customers can discretely wear it all day, continue to live a normal life, and engage in regular activities.
