G.F. Health Products Inc. (Graham-Field) has acquired HME manufacturer Gendron, which makes bariatric beds, mobility devices, seating, and patient transfer and transport products.
The buy — Graham-Field’s fourth acquisition of a U.S. medical equipment manufacturer in the past eight years — will maximize Graham-Field’s manufacturing and marketing in the acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation and homecare markets, said Ken Spett, president and CEO of Graham-Field.
“This acquisition will further allow Graham-Field to provide an integrated system of products to assist in the care of the bariatric patient and resident,” Spett, said. “The acquisition will also expand our ‘Made in USA’ Strategic Initiative and will enhance the market potential of Graham-Field’s existing Lumex, Everest&Jennings, Basic American Medical Products, Hausted and Intensa products.”
“Gendron, whose heritage dates to 1871, has a well-deserved reputation for providing customers with superior healthcare equipment,” Gendron President Steven Cotter added. “I am confident that product quality, service and innovation will continue without interruption.”
To that end, Graham-Field’s 20-acre Fond du Lac, Wis. steel fabrication complex and 7.5-acre Gwinnett County, Ga. medical upholstery, assembly and distribution facility will begin producing the Gendron portfolio of bariatric equipment.
