ATHOMES Spring Conference, previously scheduled for March 19-20 in Nashville, Tenn., has been postponed to a “future date yet to be determined,” according to the Association for Tennessee Home Oxygen & Medical Equipment Services.
The board made the “difficult decision” to postpone on Monday, March 9, ATHOMES said in a Facebook post.
“This will allow your focus to stay on your families, homes and businesses,” the post said.
While the post did not explicitly mention the coronavirus pandemic, the move follows the decisions of event organizers around the country to cancel or postpone their gatherings as coronavirus cases in the U.S. continue to grow.
The two-day event typically features educational sessions with speakers ranging from VGM and the American Association for Homecare to the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) and BCBST. ATHOMES was also set to hold its board meeting, which includes representatives from AAHomecare, Permobil and VGM, before welcoming attendees to the conference.
This article has been updated to reflect that ATHOMES has postponed the conference. A previous version said that registration was still open.
