Viral Video Sensation Gets Quantum Chair with iLevel

Power Chair users of ‘Back it up, Terry’ fame gets a new chair thanks to a donation from Quantum Rehab and Team Adapative.

Remember the viral video sensation, “Back it up, Terry?” Well, the video’s namesake, Terry Davis, received a Quantum Rehab Edge 3 power chair with iLevel seat elevation thanks to a donation from Quantum Rehab and Team Adaptive.

If you need a memory jog, here’s the video of Davis trying to evade some fireworks, which has been viewed more than 4 million times:

Originally, two GoFundMe accounts were started to purchase a new power wheelchair for Davis, but Quantum and Team Adaptive partnered to donate the chair, leaving the GoFundMe money to go toward an accessible van and home modifications.

The iLevel seat capability means Davis can better carry out day-to-day tasks and engage eye-to-eye with others. As iLevel elevates, the power base reinforces the chair’s stability electronically and mechanically to ensure it can safely travel at 4.5 mph while raised to 12 inches of elevation.

“With iLevel, Terry can reach his Steelers cup in the cabinet and he is able to get ice and water for himself,” said Annette Carter, Terry’s mother. “Previously someone had to do that for him. His grandma does not cook with as much spice as I do, and he is able to reach the spices himself now. Also, I would always have to kiss Terry’s head when I was leaving the house because I can’t always bend down. Now I can just lean over and kiss him.”
