CMS Opens Round 2021 Registration

Authorized officials have 14 days to get in DBIdS and Connexion, backup authorized officials have 21 days, and the registration window closes completely in 67 days.

CMS has opened registration for providers wishing to bid in Round 2021 of its competitive bidding program, and some of the deadlines are coming up fast.

First off, to bid in Round 2021 providers must have a user account in CMS’s Enterprise Portal and have access added to the online DMEPOS Bidding System, DBidS, and Connexion, the program’s secure portal. 

In terms of specific deadlines, the authorized officials that bidding providers have designed must be entered into DBIdS and Connexion by June 24. Backup authorized officials have until July 1, and the registration window closes completely on Aug. 16.

CMS also further fleshed-out it’s Round 2021 timeline:

March 7 - The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announces the pre-bidding supplier awareness program
May 7 - CMS announces bidding timeline and begins bidder education program
June 10 - Registration window opens for the DMEPOS Bidding System, DBidS, and Connexion, the program’s secure portal
July 16* - Bid window opens
Aug. 16* - DBidS registration closes (Connexion registration always remains open)
Aug. 19* - Covered document review date for bidders to upload financial documents in Connexion
Sept. 18* - Bid window closes
Fall 2019* - Preliminary bid evaluation notification
Summer 2020* - CMS announces single payment amounts and begins contracting process
Fall 2020* - CMS announces contract suppliers
Jan. 1, 2021 - Implementation of Round 2021 contracts and prices
