The National Small Business Association (NSBA) has named Craig Rae, owner of Salisbury, N.C. mobility and access business Penrod Medical Equipment, to its Leadership Council.
The NSBA is the nation’s oldest advocacy organization for small businesses. Rae joins the organization’s Leadership Council alongside other small-business advocates from across the country as they work in a nonpartisan fashion to promote the interests of small business to policymakers in Washington, D.C.
“As a small-business owner, I see daily the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation,” Rae stated. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small-business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress.”
Rae acquired 15-year old Penrod Medical Equipment in 2011, after 30 years as a corporate executive for leading manufacturing companies. Penrod Medical is an accredited DME provider serving approximately 35 counties in central and western North Carolina.
Rae said he joined the NSBA Leadership Council as part of his efforts to tackle the many critical issues facing small business, including tax reform, regulatory restraint, healthcare costs and how the Affordable Care Act will impact small business.
“I am proud to have Craig as part of our Leadership Council,” NSBA President and CEO Todd McCracken said. “He came to us highly recommended and I look forward our coordinated efforts for years to come.”
