Increasing Patient Engagement

Patient engagement is becoming the norm for U.S. healthcare, and Patient Hub aims to increase the fluidity and ease of HME provider-patient communications.

As hospitals, physicians offices and other healthcare entities work to increase the level of service they provide, patient engagement systems have quickly grown to become a convention in U.S. healthcare.

Think about it: we’re all familiar with getting text updates on prescriptions, or using websites and phone apps to coordinate with primary care physicians and staff. Patient engagement is reaching the point of ubiquity. But what about HME?

At last week’s Medtrade, I talked with Brightree's Steve Rogers, vice president of product management for the post acute software company, about how his business seeks to increase the fluidity and ease of HME provider-patient communications via its new Patient Hub app. The app aims to help providers and patients coordinate deliveries, renew resupply items, and facilitate other key provider-patient dialogs.
