VGM Government Relations is surveying the delivery costs incurred by HME providers, and is urging HME businesses to participate in the endeavor.
Announced at Heartland, the Delivery Cost Survey has already attracted a number of responses, but VGM notes the survey needs far more input to collect a decent amount of data. Industry advocates will then use the data as evidence of providers’ cost burdens when speaking with lawmakers about HME-related policy.
Providers can take the short survey by visiting bit.ly/deliverycostsurvey, and have the option of submitting multiple surveys for each of their locations serving different regions.
Despite being one page, the survey examines topics such as time spent traveling to patient homes; estimated set-up times; estimated pick-up times; location of business (CBA, rural or non-bid); wage rates; and other items that help illustrate costs differences in delivering care to various geographic areas.
“It is critical that we get as much feedback as possible in order to help give a stronger argument to legislators that can help you,” a VGM statement noted.
