As the industry gets ready for The American Association for Homecare’s Washington Legislative Conference, slated for May 23 and 24, the association has shared more details about the event.
Located at the Sheraton Pentagon City in Arlington, Va., this year’s event will feature keynote speaker Melanie Combs-Dyer, director of the Provider Compliance Group for CMS. Issued education will be provided by Jay Witter, AAHomecare's senior vice president of public policy. The educational sessions will take place during the lunch and general session, along with the annual membership meeting and presentation of the AAHomecare/Mal Mixon Legislative Advocate Award.
To help providers lobby lawmakers and legislative staff, AAHomecare will post detailed position papers on each industry issue online the week of the conference, and will provide printed version in the conference material packets available at registration onsite. Also, the event will provide leave-behind packets with the position papers for providers to drop off at each of their Capitol Hill appointments.
In terms of the AAHoemcare’s special councils, the State Leaders, HME/RT and CRMC Councils will convene on Wednesday morning. Individuals who are involved in those councils, or who are a member of AAHomecare and would like to participate in them should contact Ashley Plauche at ashleyp@aahomecare.org for more information.
Registration for the conference costs $49 for AAHomecare members and $99 for non-members. Providers wishing to register can do so by filling out and returning a downloadable PDF form at http://bit.ly/2Fd6rwt.
For hotel reservations, providers should contact the Sheraton Pentagon City, where the event is being held. Attendees can register online at http://bit.ly/2CSK0au, or by calling (800) 325-3535.
To help offset the cost of the event, AAHomecare offers sponsorship opportunities. Interested parties should contact Sue Mairena at suem@aahomecare.org for details.
