Opportunities for Positive Growth (OPG) a provider of services for people with disabilities in Indiana has announced a leadership transition timeline after two company leaders announced their retirement.
In February, CEO Gail Kahl, who founded OPG in 1998 and COO Dan Kahl, who joined the organization in 2002, announced their retirement effective on April 1, 2019. Gail Kahl and Dan Kahl will remain on the board of directors following their official last day of employment with OPG.
Two current OPG employees will assume those leadership roles after the transition period is complete. Andrea Schwartz will move from her current position as chief strategy officer into the chief executor officer-elect role, and will assume the duties of the COO as well. Dr. Lucy Lund will transition from executive director of self-directed services into the chief strategy officer-elect role.
“The time is right for us to move on,” Gail Kahl said. “Andrea and Lucy will keep the mission of the organization alive and well through their experience and leadership.”
“I can’t fully express how excited I am to transition into this important role,” Schwartz said. “Since joining OPG in 2016 it has been an honor to be a part of the company Gail has built. It’s an even greater honor to succeed her.”
“I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Gail and Dan and I am humbled to work to continue their legacy,” Lund said. “Since day one I have been in awe of Gail as someone who always puts people first.”
