Home Oxygen Company Earns CPAP Audit Reprieve

Audit contractor Noridian tells provider it has closed its audit file thanks to it squeaky-clean performance in Round 1 of the Targeted Probe and Education Audit process

Home Oxygen Company LLC, a provider of respiratory services in California’s Central Valley has earned a reprieve from CPAP audits thanks to a success ratio of nearly 97 percent of audit decisions.

Audit contractor Noridian Healthcare Solutions notified the Golden State provider to let it know it had completed Round 1 of its Targeted Probe & Education Audit process, and would not have to complete Round 2 or Round 3 of the audit. As a result, its audit file was “closed.”

“This is a collaborative effort between internal and external teams resulting in compliant files,” Home Oxygen Company CEO Andrea Ewert said. “We continue our process for success despite the obvious burden.”

This isn’t Home Oxygen Company’s first audit amnesty. After earning a reprieve in 2017 from both oxygen and sleep audits, the provider said it kept maintaining its documentation and claims processing standards in preparation for 2018. As projected, Noridian selected Home Oxygen Company for the Targeted Probe & Education Audit.

“I have 100 percent confidence in our abilities to process orders in the manner Medicare requires,” Ewert said.
