Next Round of HME Audit Key Submissions Starts Jan. 15

Industry audit survey will go from quarterly to half-year reports, includes new report benefit.

The latest round of the HME Audit Key survey starts on Jan. 15, and will now collect data every half year, rather than on a quarterly basis. The survey will also include a new benchmark report for participants, according to the American Association for Homecare, which runs the survey.

“We believe the change to a twice-yearly format will allow more HME suppliers to participate in the program, which in turn will strengthen the validity of the survey findings,” a statement from the association read.

The Audit Key program aims to help the industry better understand the impact of Medicare claims audits, and provide detailed information on Capitol Hill in order to better advocate for legislative and regulatory changes to CMS’s audit program.

“For those of you who have not yet participated, or have not submitted data in recent rounds, we hope you will consider submitting your data in the next round,” AAomecare’s statement noted. “Your data is critically needed to help AAHomecare make the case for reforming Medicare audits for HME.”

Additionally, the Audit Key program offers a business upside, according to AAHomecare. And now, companies who participate in the next rounds (January 2018 and July 2018) will have access to a benchmark report that allows them to see how their company compares to other participants.

To provide more information, AAHomecare will host a webinar on Jan. 9, from 2 pm. to 3 p.m. EDT. The webinar will answer questions, demonstrate the data-entry procedure, and highlight tools that help Brightree streamline the process. Register at
