The winners of the seventh annual Get Out & Enjoy Life (GOEL) photo contest have been announced, with Wyoming resident, Ashlee Lundvall taking top honors.
The GOEL competition encourages people with disabilities to enjoy an active lifestyle and share it with their peers through photography. The program is a team effort by SPORTS ‘N SPOKES, the sports and recreation magazine of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), along with the Spina Bifida Association and intermittent catheter manufacturer Cure Medical.
Together, SPORTS ‘N SPOKES, the SBA and Cure Medical. reach more than 250,000 people per week who either use wheelchairs or those who care for someone who does. Daily prize winners were chosen from those who played along on social media, with the winners receiving a prize pack that includes a 2017 Summer Tour commemorative t-shirt.
This year’s GOEL theme was SUMMER TOUR, 2017, and focused on travel regardless of paralysis. The program emphasized activities such as adaptive sports, accessible amusement parks, inclusive vacation spots and other unique travel outings across the United States.
