The 2017 Midwest Association for Medical Equipment Services (MAMES) Fall Excellence in HME Conference, held in Welch, Minn., enjoyed a 40 percent increase in attendance from last year’s event.
Additionally, attendees rated the event’s educational, informational, networking and display hall with a perfect 4.0, the highest attendee feedback score ever recorded for the event.
“While the addition of our wonderful MAMES Members accounted for almost half of the increase in attendance we were still up over 20 percent before the additional attendees from Wisconsin,” said MAMES executive director Rose Schafhauser.
Schafhauser also attributed the event’s success to the event’s 27 conference sponsors and support from MAMES associate members, as well as its conference sessions and educational offerings.
“Our MAMES education committee really did a great job again this year of providing ideas for new and exciting programs that our members need to succeed going forward,” she said. “With new programs for retail, reimbursement, rehab and a new ‘Speed Dating Round Table’ session with 12 different topics available led by the best in the industry, we really had a great line up to add to the always informative Washington Update.”
The event also featured speakers such as Matthew Sanford, of Found of Mind Body Solutions, and Ms. Wheelchair America Sheri Melander-Smith from Minnesota.
MAMES will host a 2018 MAMES Spring Excellence in HME Convention & Exhibition from April 25 to 27, 2018 at the Embassy Suites on the River, Des Moines, Iowa. For more information on MAMES events or membership, email info@mames.com.
