After several years absent, Ford Motor Co. will exhibit at the upcoming Medtrade event, reaffirming the Detroit Big Three auto maker’s commitment to the HME marketplace.
The company will be showcase its Transit and Transit Connect vans at the show, which is slated to run Oct 23-25 at Atlanta’s Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Why the return? The company’s analysts felt the industry had good potential for the vehicles, according to Ford Brand Manager Julie Ellenberger, who spoke in an extended interview with Medtrade Monday’s Greg Thompson.
“When the team was taking a look at our schedule for the coming year, and looking at new opportunities and growth areas, at Medtrade we saw a ton of growth opportunity in the home care industry,” Ellenberger explained. “To us, it was a no-brainer that we needed to have a presence there with our van line-up in particular.”
Ford will feature one of each model from that lineup at its booth so that providers can get an up-close look at the vehicles and their configurations. The Transit is Ford’s full-size van, and the Transit Connect is its compact version.
“It’s been a few years since Ford exhibited at Medtrade,” noted Kevin Gaffney, group show director for Medtrade. “We are thrilled to have this iconic brand back at the show. It will be a great opportunity for attendees to explore new vehicle possibilities.”
