Video: C-SPAN Interviews AAHomecare’s Ryan

Association president and CEO makes case for reforming competitive bidding, follows up with SIRIUS/XM appearance.

C-SPAN’s Washington Journal show interviewed American Association for Homecare President and CEO Tom Ryan, who made the case for reforming competitive bidding.

Interviewed on Labor Day (Sept. 5), Ryan highlighted the service component of providing HME and the benefits of homecare.

“It’s patient preferred, it’s economically the best situation, and at the end of the day you will get a better outcome,” Ryan said. “Being fiscally responsible in this town [Washington, D.C.] is important. The legislation we have had has been self-funded by the industry. We have been taking dollars from other areas of the industry. The last bill out there would take reimbursement from Medicare and have that become the new rate in 2019.”

Ryan also appeared today on SIRIUS/XM radio’s The Morning Briefing with Tim Farley, which aired on the network’s Politics of the United States (POTUS) channel (no. 124).
