Industry Mourns Loss of Legal Expert

Edward Vishnevetsky at K&L Gates passes away unexpectedly, after building a career specializing in healthcare law and helping HME providers.

The industry is mourning the unexpected passing of attorney Edward Vishnevetsky, head of the Dallas Health Law Practice for K&L Gates.

Vishnevetsky tragically passed away in a white water rafting accident while vacationing in Costa Rica. A memorial service for Edward Vishnevetsky will be held on Sun., June 26, at 3:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El in Dallas, located at 8500 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, Texas 75225.

Vishnevetsky advocated for HME providers, and was a regular speaker and writer in the industry, presenting at industry events, as well as webinars. In particular, he was known for helping providers with Medicare reimbursement issues, as well as contending with audits and recouped claims due to audits.

Besides HME providers, Vishnevetsky represented a variety of healthcare clients in both the acute and post-acute space, including home health agencies, hospices, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, physician groups, insurance carriers, accountable care organizations, and manufacturers.

Vishnevetsky was engaged in a variety of professional and civic activities, and was a consultant to the American Association for Homecare. He was recently recognized as a Chambers USA 2016 Legal Leader in Field of Health Law, as a Texas Super Lawyers 2016 Rising Star.
