Video: Wheel:Life, Sports 'N Spokes Announce Photo Contest

Sixth annual Get Out, Enjoy Life Accessible Travel Event + Photo Contest offers prizes for best photo submissions showing active mobility users.

Wheel:Life, the social community for wheelchair users, and SPORTS ‘N SPOKES, the sports and recreation magazine of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, have kicked off their sixth annual Get Out & Enjoy Life This Summer event and photo contest.

Using the slogan of “GO, LET’S GO!” this year’s GOEL theme focuses on “travel everywhere your heart desires to go, regardless of your paralysis,” and spotlights activities such as adaptive sports, accessible amusement parks, inclusive vacation spots and other unique outings.

Participants can submit photos of related family vacations and weekend outings to be considered for one of three grand prizes as well as a Get Out, Enjoy Life Prize Pack. Photos can be submitted between June 1 and June 30

In addition to the Prize Pack, the grand prizes include:

  • First-place winner will receive a new Panthera X carbon fiber wheelchair (a retail value of $11,000) courtesy of Triumph Mobility, and, based on photo quality, the cover of the September SPORTS `N SPOKES issue. Winning photos that do not meet our production and design resolutions will be placed in the Final Frame section of the magazine and the winner will receive a two -year subscription to SPORTS `N SPOKES magazine.
  • Second-place winner will receive a new Bellyak Kayak for people with paralysis (a retail of value of $1995), a complimentary one-year subscription to SPORTS `N SPOKES magazine,  and their winning photo featured in the Final Frame of the September issue of SPORTS `N SPOKES.
  • Third-place winners will receive a 9.7-inch iPad Pro, courtesy of Comfort Medical, a complimentary copy of the September SPORTS `N SPOKES issue, and the winning photo will be featured as “Spoke of the Week” on the SPORTS `N SPOKES web site.
