Providers can start entering their First Quarter 2016 audit data into the American Association for Homecare’s Audit Key program starting on April 15.
Through collecting providers’ audit statistics, the long-term Audit Key initiative aims to drive the kind of hard numbers and credible data that will help the industry make a strong argument for reforming CMS’s audit program and easing the financial burdens those audits are having on providers. The data can also help providers compare their audit experiences to industry averages.
The program started development in June 2014 with partners including Brightree LLC, and AAHomecare switched the program on in January of this year. Audit Key quickly began taking Fourth Quarter 2015 data, and results from the Fourth Quarter 2015 round will be available shortly, according to the association.
Providers can register for the program at www.hmeauditkey.org and enter their audit data. A slide and audio presentation, as well as other information to help providers get started is at www.aahomecare.org/advocacy/hme-audit-key.
Providers needing help registering or entering their information in the Audit Key system can get it via a contact form at http://www.hmeauditkey.org/Home/Help; emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling 1-844-HME A KEY (844-463-2539).
