Jim Greatorex Joins VGM Retail

Former provider professional will help source new products to enhance providers’ cash sales efforts.

HME veteran and retail expert Jim Greatorex, formerly of Maine’s Black Bear Medical, has joined VGM Group Inc.’s Retail Services group.

In the role, Greatorex will help find new products to help enhance providers’ retail sales, and work with VGM members to help them build or improve their retail businesses.

Greatorex started Black Bear Medical in 1988, and it grew to three stores and 37 employees in Maine and New Hampshire until it was sold earlier this year. He is also a past president of NEMED, and has actively lobbied for the HME industry in Washington, D.C. Greatorex has more than 20 years’ HME retail experience, and regularly speaks on the topic.

“Retail in the HME space is not solely about selling traditional HME products for cash,” said Paul DiMarco, vice president of VGM Marketing. “Jim understands, after years of putting this into practice, that success comes from a unique product mix that appeals to the consumer. VGM is extremely excited to have an industry expert like Jim join our VGM Retail team.”
