CMS Posts Payment Rule FAQ
Document answers frequent questions regarding its rule to take bidding national in 2016.

CMS has published a document that answers frequently asked questions regarding the the final rule it released in November on the expansion competitive by 2016, as well as bundling for specific types of DME that fall under the bid program.
CMS’s final rule included a methodology for bringing competitive bidding prices to non-competitive bidding areas, such as rural areas, and outlined a six-month phase-in processes for applying competitive bidding reimbursement rates to areas that will be incorporated via the expansion. The rule was lengthy and covered many aspects of the broad enterprise of taking bidding national.
