Two new lawmakers have added their signatures to the list of Representatives backing H.R. 1717, the bill that would replace competitive bidding with the industry’s market pricing program.
The latest H.R. 1717 co-sponsors are Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) and Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), bringing the bill’s total number of backers to 180.
The bill, introduced into the House by Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) in April 2013, has been picking up supporters in the House, but the rate of new backers signing on to the bill had slowed at the start of 2014. That pace of new co-sponsors picked up after the American Association for Homecare’s Washington Conference in March, and the bill has been steadily gaining signatures from House members since then.
