ACU-Serve Appoints New CEO

Knight takes wheel of DME collection company; other staff changes announced.

Co-founder of ACU-Serve, a provider of patient payment collection services to HME businesses, will serve as the company’s chief executive officer, a role he previous shared with co-founders Angie Barone and Tim Barone, who have decided to pursue other opportunities.

Knight will lead ACU-Serve with new business partner Tom Meadows, along with Cindy Hoyt, CPC, MBA, the firm’s chief operating officer. Meadows has provided IT consulting services and software development for human resource information systems through several entrepreneurial ventures. Hoyt has worked in patient accounting and financial services for several hospital systems.

ACU-Serve has also made some other recent hires:

Stephanie Greene, Esq., who will head up the Auditing and Consulting Division. Greene will counsel clients in billing audits and appeals, as well as other issues related to compliance. Greene previously served as general counsel and senior client advisor for The Audit Team and Harrington Management Group.

Samantha Haynam, RN, MSN, and Yvette Nugent have joined as new account managers. Haynam previously served as director of Aultman Home Medical Supply and on the adjunct faculty of Aultman College of Nursing and Health Services, both in Canton, Ohio. Nugent most recently worked at Pacific Pulmonary Services as director of Compliance — Reimbursement Rules and Regulations.
