MEA, van Halem Group Partner for Audit Solution

Providers will be able to electronic respond to auditors’ documentation requests.

Medical Electronic Attachment (MEA), a provider of secure exchange of health information, and Medicare consulting and auditing firm The van Halem Group have agreed to provide MEA’s FastAttach, an esMD (electronic submission of medical documentation) solution, to HME/DME providers.

This partnership aims to provide an efficient, streamlined solution for reporting and documentation review during the Medicare audit process. The solution will be provided at no additional cost to clients of The van Halem Group, said Wayne van Halem, founder and President of the firm.

“Empowering our clients to electronically respond to Medicare audits alleviates many administrative burdens and costs,” he explained.

Under the partnered solution, clients of The van Halem Group will electronically respond to Additional Documentation Requests by Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) and Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC) through the esMD CONNECT gateway, and will use MEA’s FastAttach to electronically send all required medical documentation to the requesting CMS review contractor for RAC, MAC and CERT audits, eliminating the need to mail or fax documentation.

“MEA and The van Halem Group share the same values and dedication in providing excellent service to the healthcare community,” said Lindy Benton, MEA CEO.  “We are pleased to have been chosen as their Health Information Handler for the esMD program.”
