More than 25 providers encouraged more than 1,000 beneficiaries and community members to sign letters to Congress that pressed for a fair and accurate cost analysis of the Market Pricing Program.
With the support of People for Quality Care and VGM Government, providers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Kansas, California and Colorado circulated letters to their senators among colleagues and posted petition forms for customers to sign at the front desk. The signatures from multiple HMEs were compiled at VGM and sent to each state’s respective Senators.
“We were especially impressed with Kandy of Waterbury Medical Equipment Supply located in Connecticut,” PFQC Director Kelly Turner said. “Her efforts led to 369 signatures and showed what one dedicated individual and HME can do to make a difference” commented. All of those who care about their local HME must understand that this fight is not over.”
The letter campaign followed a similar one in Iowa led by VGM’s Van Miller in which more than 400 people signed a similar letter. This recent effort will be followed up by a short campaign to engage the Michigan HME community in a similar request.
