p>Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF) and home health benefits management provider CareCentrix, Inc. have formed a new partnership that makes CareCentrix BCBSF’s exclusive provider of home health services for its nearly 4 million members.
CareCentrix provides centralized management of home healthcare needs, including skilled nursing services, home infusion therapies and, most notably, durable medical equipment. Currently, CareCentrix provides services to more than 30 million patients via a network of 7,000 credentialed home care providers.
BCBSF says the relationship will bring a streamlined approach to home healthcare to its network providers, such as “condensed” financial transactions for physicians, which it says will result in quicker reimbursement and higher-quality of service.
“In a show of what is to come, with consolidation of companies and captiated contracts, BCBS announced its partnership with CareCentrix for all its long term care services,” read a statement from the Florida Alliance of Homecare Services. “Many FAHCS members have already been notified by BCBS that their care contracts will be canceled come September 1, as CareCentrix is taking their accounts. … [Providers] need to consider how [they] can participate in the near future of health care.”
