Advanced Diabetes Supply (ADS) has reported “promising results” from the first three months of its diabetes management pilot program.
In a Jan. 10 announcement, ADS — a Carlsbad, California-based national distributor of specialty diabetes supply — said the program offering integrated, remote care diabetes management services “is already seeing positive outcomes for participating members.”
In fall 2024, ADS partnered with StrideMD, which offers connected care solutions, to provide the StrideForward program of remote patient monitoring and virtual care services to ADS members.
Approximately 500 ADS clients participated in the initial phase of the program, which captured more than 1.5 million continuous glucose monitor (CGM) readings.
Results showed “leading indicators of significant total cost of care savings in the population served,” the announcement said, “including average glucose decreased by 4.2%, [and] time in range increased by 11%.”
“Our partnership with StrideMD is a further indicator not only of the ADS commitment to patient-centered care for our members, but also our ability to deliver substantial health-care savings for populations we serve,” said Bill Mixon, CEO of ADS. “The early progress is very positive, and we will continue to explore the results as we look to further scale the program in the future. We hope the value we are able to show in savings encourages payers to offer StrideForward as a program for their members.”
“The integration of expedited CGM prescriptions and proactive patient monitoring is a model for broader diabetes management initiatives,” said StrideMD CEO Spencer Weiss. “In addition to improving clinical outcomes for participants, we believe this program will significantly reduce health-care costs associated with diabetes management, further underscoring the value to health-care providers and payers.”
ADS said StrideForward provides “comprehensive, patient-centered care through a combination of virtual and in-person support.” ADS members participating in the program “have 24/7 access to a team of expert endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators, and other medical professionals, as well as advanced remote patient monitoring technology.”
ADS offered enrollment in StrideForward to “a select group of ADS members living with type 2 diabetes.”
