The Alabama Durable Medical Equipment Association (ADMEA) is searching for a new executive director to replace Mike Hamilton, who is retiring.
In an Aug. 8 announcement, ADMEA said, “ADMEA is a nonprofit trade association representing home medical equipment (HME) providers across Alabama. For decades, the organization has played a vital role in supporting members through education, advocacy, and industry collaboration. The executive director will serve as the face of the organization and a driving force behind its mission to support and protect the HME industry in Alabama.”
ADMEA is looking for candidates who “will bring experience in event planning, stakeholder engagement and industry leadership. Candidates with a background in HME sales, operations or vendor relations are strongly encouraged to apply.”
Applicants can email a résumé and cover letter to [email protected].
Hamilton, who was honored in May with the 2025 Mal Mixon Advocate Award, will be retiring this year. He entered the home medical equipment industry more than 50 years ago via his family’s business, Hamilton Oxygen Service. Hamilton co-founded ADMEA in 1972, serving as secretary-treasurer and on the board of directors before becoming executive director.
He received the advocacy award during the American Association for Homecare’s (AAHomecare) 2025 Washington Legislative Conference, which was also Hamilton’s 50th Capitol Hill fly-in.
