ACMESA) recently wrapped its annual summer meeting, which was held Aug. 18 and 19 at the Holiday Inn Resort in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.
This was ACMESA’s first face-to-face meeting since February 2020. While the event returned with an in-person format, ACMESA encouraged mask-wearing and social distancing to protect those gathering for the two-day program of education and networking.
The event’s educational agenda featured Miriam Lieber, president of Lieber Consulting LLC; Ty Bello, president and founder of Team@Work; Mark Higley, vice president at VGM Group Inc.; John Gallagher, vice president of VGM Government Relations; Laura Williard, vice presidentt of Payer Relations at the American Association for Homecare; and Kim Brummett, vice president of Regulatory Affairs at AAHomecare.
ACMESA Leadership also presented the Inaugural Tart Advocacy & Leadership Award to its namesakes, Billy and Joey Tart, previously of Family Medical Supply, who accepted the award, thanked the association for the honor, and encouraged all to continue strong advocacy efforts in support of ACMESA and AAHomecare, who both work to protect the industry.
An annual piano concert group singalong led by ACMESA President Craig Rae put a cap on the event.
Rae noted that Billy and Joey Tart weren’t the only award recipients:
“The highlight of the meetings was presenting the inaugural Tart Advocacy & Leadership Award to Billy and Joey Tart, who have contributed so much to NCAMES and ACMESA,” he said. “Immediately after receiving their award, which was presented by longtime industry friend, Beth Bowen, they turned the tables, and surprised Beth with a plaque recognizing her achievement of 30 years managing and leading NCAMES and ACMESA.”
