AccuMED Teams Up with Velcro

July 1, 2006 by HME Business

AccuMED Technologies, a manufacturer of high-tech fabrics based in Buffalo, N.Y., recently partnered with Velcro USA in a move that would increase both companies’ exposure and share in the marketplace.

Said AccuMed’s vice president of sales Michael DiMeo, “Partnering with Velcro USA opens up significant opportunities because of their respect in the industry, and AccuMED can provide the intelligent interactive materials and technical information with our products that will assist in exploring new markets for both companies.”

DiMeo expects the partnership to “(strengthen) Velcro USA’s position in the market because of their strong customer base and their manufacturing capabilities. It’s going to help them actually increase their sales and also increase their market share by partnering up with AccuMED.”

The partnership, which went into effect in April, will improve brand awareness and increase distribution for AccuMED’s Breathe-O-Prene line. “By combining our capabilities &#133 and our intelligent interactive materials, it opens up a huge opportunity for both companies,” said DiMeo.

The line includes the Breath-O-Prene standard material, Breath-O-Prene with SilverTec, Breath-O-Prene with Fiber X with Holofiber and Breath-O-Prene eShield. The material is used for products targeting sleep apnea, orthopedic devices, respiratory devices, diabetic devices and urology devices.
