A new Oct. 8 webinar from the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) will discuss how ePrescribing can benefit home medical equipment (HME) providers as well as the patients they serve.
In a Sept. 2 bulletin, AAHomecare said providers “are embracing ePrescribing platforms to increase efficiency and accuracy in their ordering and fulfillment processes, while also seeing benefits of reduced costs and a better patient experience. AAHomecare and leading ePrescribing technology companies are working to accelerate adoption of these systems by making sure suppliers, clinicians, payers, and policymakers understand the urgency of making ePrescribing a standard practice within the industry.”
The webinar is being presented with support from Brightree, DMEscripts, Parachute Health, and Tomorrow Health.
“This technology saves DMEPOS suppliers time and money while also benefiting patients, and it’s available right now,” said AAHomecare President/CEO Tom Ryan. “That’s why we’re increasing our commitment to spurring adoption of ePrescribing and continued improvement in these systems.
“Increased usage of ePrescribing will also deter criminals from using the Medicare DMEPOS claims process to facilitate large-scale fraudulent activities. The more the HME sector utilizes electronic communications in the healthcare continuum, the stronger and more resilient our prescribing and payment systems will become.”
Scheduled to present the webinar — titled “Expert ePrescribing Strategies for Modern Healthcare” — are Meredith Hendrie from Spectrum Medical; Chanel Martin from Nationwide Medical; Kara Boyd from Apria; and Amanda Smithey from McKesson.
Learning objectives will include gaining insights from seasoned HME providers on how to optimize ePrescribing workflows; identifying tactics for overcoming common challenges while improving efficiencies; and exploring innovative approaches to elevate ePrescribing operations.
AAHomecare members can attend the one-hour Oct. 8 webinar, which begins at 2:30 p.m. Eastern, for free. Non-members can register for $129.
