While it is likely that HHS will extend the PHE for another 90 days after it expires on Oct. 15, the agency has released guidance on preparing for the end of the PHE, including guidelines for DMEPOS suppliers.
Aimed at representatives from payers, attendees of the inaugural event will learn from home and specialty infusion experts and executives about current and future opportunities and challenges facing the industry.
A public comment period is open until Sept. 14, and HME advocates are urging all members of the industry, and particularly CRT stakeholders, to submit. Notably, the reconsideration does not include power standing systems.
Registration is currently underway, and the association is urging providers to register right away so that they can prepare for training and the actual meetings with lawmakers and staff.
Discussion between senior association staff and leaders at the agency indicates that CMS doesn’t look likely to start a new round of competitive bidding this year.
