“Whether you buy a Conference Pass or an Expo Pass, you can attend any or all of the continuing education unit [CEU] courses as a complimentary add-on,” Sarah Varner, Medtrade’s senior marketing director, said.
She added that attendees must mark which courses they plan to go to when they are going through the registration process. After registering, attendees should receive a confirmation email from Medtrade asking them to give their CEU information to Quantum before the session.
The sessions will cover topics like the hierarchy of power wheelchair drive controls, using programming stations to troubleshoot issues with the Q-Logic 3 system, and the relationship between seating technicians and ATPs.
Wade Lucas, the clinical education manager at Quantum Rehab, will teach two sessions on drive controls. He encouraged professionals to attend the sessions regardless of their experience level.
“Any clinicians who are interested in seating and mobility, or complex rehab, or people who do a fair amount of seating and mobility evaluations should consider attendance,” Lucas said. “Really the class is about the decisionmaking process, and how do we provide the best product match to the patient, and make them as independent, and as functional as possible.”
In addition to the mobility courses, Medtrade says it still has slots available in some of its workshop offerings. Those workshops include lessons on HME sales practices and reimbursement requirements for providers as well as a new course on meditation and mindfulness. The sessions can last anywhere from a few hours to an all-day experience.
“Mindfulness has been a hot topic in pop culture in the last few years,” Mark Lind, Medtrade’s associate show director, said. “This year, familiar presenter Anna McDevitt will delve into different aspects of this phenomenon to introduce attendees to ways that mindfulness can improve leadership, meditation skills, and even golf.”
