Healthcare accreditation organization (AO) The Compliance Team Inc. (TCT) is celebrating 25 years since founder and president Sandra Canally, RN founded the business.
TCT is the only certified woman-owned AO to be authorized to accredit Medicare Part A and Part B providers, and Canally said her focus from the start has been to transform healthcare accreditation from a process that she said had grown overly complex, burdensome and costly into something more reliable and that was an indicator of patient care quality.
“Simplification leads to clarity and clarity allows the provider to focus on improving their everyday services to their patients and their own bottom lines,” she explained.
In 1998, the Compliance Team launched its Exemplary Provider accreditation program for DMEPOS after four years of development and testing. Today, it offers 17 operations-based accreditation programs for clinics, PCMH, pharmacy services, DMEPOS and private duty.
The AO employs an accreditation process using plain language and the firm’s Safety-Honesty-Caring Quality Standards and Evidence of Compliance process. TCT also was the first AO to host and maintain a patient satisfaction reporting and benchmarking portal and includes it as a value-added feature of each program.
