Ability360 (Phoenix, Ariz.) is the new owner of a wheelchair accessible 2017 Toyota Sienna Limited Premium van, thanks to a donation from Vantage Mobility International.
Ability360 is a non-profit organization that provides programs and education to enable people with disabilities to live independently. Their accessible Sports and Fitness Center staff will utilize the new VMI van to transport members with disabilities to and from the center.
“It will provide much needed transportation for many of our consumers,” said Phil Pangrazio, Ability360 president and CEO.
Vantage Mobility International’s vehicles are built on Toyota, Honda and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles chassis. The donated Toyota Sienna features hand controls donated by Sure Grip and a Northstar power conversion package, both of which are specially designed for drivers and passengers who use wheelchairs. Additionally, the van provides enough headroom and floor space for a large power wheelchair and a 360 degree turn radius.
“The importance of community partnerships and collaborations with businesses like VMI are measured by their impact on empowering individuals with all disabilities to achieve and continue independent lifestyles,” Pangrazio added. “That is our mission and VMI is helping us ensure it is achieved through the donation of this van.
