Well-known HME and CRT advocate and legislative expert Cara Bachenheimer is shifting gears from her longtime spot at Invacare Corp. to open a new Washington, D.C. office for industry law firm Brown & Fortunato, P.C.
In her new position, Bachenheimer will expand her work in government relations, legislative and regulatory matters on behalf of the Texas-based law firm. The office is slated to open June 1.
“We are excited that Cara is joining our firm. Cara’s expertise, coupled with our core practice areas, creates an exciting synergy,” said Jeff Baird, chair of Brown & Fortunato’s National Health Care Group, which works on behalf of various healthcare clients, including those in the HME industry.
Bachenheimer’s first client will be Invacare, where she served as senior vice president of government relations for longer than 14 years.
“I appreciate Invacare’s continued support as I step away to help other businesses understand the impact of and help shape future health care legislation and regulations,” Bachenheimer said. “I am pleased to continue to support Invacare’s government relations and lobbying efforts as a consultant for the company.”
