Dan Meuser, former executive at Pride Mobility Products Corp. and brother to current Pride Chairman and CEO Scott Meuser, is making a second bid for Congress.
Meuser has launched a campaign as a Republican to represent Pennsylvania’s 11th District, a House seat that will be left open now that Rep. Lou Barletta’s (R-Pa.) has decided to run for the Senate.
“I’m excited he [Barletta] is running for Senate and I will be supporting him 110 percent,” Meuser said. “I’m also excited to end his term and retain his congressional seat for the people of the 11th District.
Meuser left a 20-year career at Pride in 2008 to take his first stab at running for Congress, but was defeated in the primaries. In 2011, then Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett nominated him to serve as Pennsylvania’s Revenue Secretary.
In that capacity, Meuser put in place efficiency- and service-oriented policies that the Council on State Taxation recognized as having the most dramatic improvement of any revenue department in the country, going from a D rating to an A- rating, the largest improvement of any department for the year.
“AAHomecare is excited to see someone who is familiar with our industry, and also an accomplished businessman and successful government official, running for Congress,” a statement from the American Association for Homecare read.
