Southern California sleep therapy provider Sleep Data has shifted to a new San Diego-area headquarters purpose built to help it serve obstructive sleep apnea patients.
Located in Kearny Mesa, Calif., the 16,000-square-foot facility is specifically designed and constructed to diagnose and treat people with OSA. The company’s recent growth necessitated the move, as Sleep Data has gone from 30 employees in 2012 to more than 100 in 2016.
“Last year we expanded into two new satellite offices in Chula Vista and Escondido in addition to our already existing San Diego headquarters and Oceanside locations, to provide better and more accessible patient care,” said Bretton Hevener, RPSGT, president of Sleep Data. “As more doctors and patients become aware of the importance of effectively treating obstructive sleep apnea, our business continues to grow and we’re able to hire more and more qualified people.”
The staff includes Registered Polysomnographic Technologists and Respiratory Therapists, as well as patient care coordinators and support personnel. The company’s management team includes Hevener; Dominic Munafo, M.D., DABSM, chief medical officer; DME industry veteran David French, CEO; and Tay Nguyen, growth strategist and Chief Technology Officer.
“We’ve assembled a management team here that has a passion for seeing the health benefits patients can achieve from appropriately administered sleep medicine,” Munafo said “When you combine that devotion to the field with the highest level of competence and decades of experience you’re able to create a special kind of care provider.”
Bearing that in mind, the company reports it has developed patented patient data and population managemsoftware that has achieved CPAP therapy compliance rates of 83 percent. In addition to CPAP therapy, Sleep Data also offers oral appliance therapy as an OSA treatment option through Sleep Alliance, a partnership with Todd Morgan, DMD, ABDSM.
