HME software maker Universal Software Solutions Inc. is working to enhance its partnership with payment processing firm Vantiv Integrated Payments to integrate smart payment card processing into Universal’s systems.
Through its relationship with Vantivm which began last summer, users of Universal’s Healthcare Management Data System (HDMS) will now have an EMV (Europay, MasterCard, and Visa) processing solution using Vantiv’s processing platform. The enhancements within HDMS will be released in the Third Quarter 2016, according to Universal.
This means Universal’s customers will be able to process chip card payments and have access to advanced security products and reporting tools. Vantiv also brings benefits suchs faster funding, better merchant reporting, and deeper connections to the Universal system.
The release also includes PCI (Payment Card Industry) 3.0 compliance, which helps merchants achieve and maintain compliance, reducing the risk of a data breach by removing cardholder data from the POS system. The integration also adds P2PE (point-to-point encryption) to help protect cardholder data from the initial swipe (or card reading) to the payment processor. Universal implemented these protections by utilizing and integrating with Vantiv TriPOS which supports a selection of certified devices.
“Partnering with Universal Software Solutions (USSI) broadens our reach into the healthcare marketplace by providing leading-edge processing, security and data services to their customers,” said Matt Downs, Head of Business and Channel Development Integrated Payments at Vantiv. “We’re thrilled to work with USS to help make the healthcare payments ecosystem more secure and keep cardholder data safe.”
