CMS has awarded contracts for the Round Two Re-compete, as well as the national mail-order re-compete, which will be effective from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2018.
CMS has executed 586 contracts for the Round Two Re-compete, equating to 91 percent of the contracts being offered. The new suppliers contracted for the Re-compete have 2,200 locations in the Round Two CBAs. CMS also awarded nine national mail-order re-compete contracts, equating to 100 percent of the contracts being offered.
Working under new guidelines to ensure a sufficient number of local and small suppliers, 92 percent of the contract suppliers are already established in either the contracts CBA, product category, or both. CMS instituted a 30 percent small supplier — those with gross revenues of $3.5 million or less — target in each CBA. For the Round Two Re-compete, 92 percent of small suppliers accepted contract offers, and represent 62 percent of all contract suppliers.
