Industry experts looking to speak at this years Medtrade event, slated for Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, should submit their presentations to Medtrade by May 9.
The annual event has launched it’s call for papers and reminded hopeful speakers that not only do they get a chance to shape their conference by submitting their abstracts, they raise their personal profile in the industry.
“Medtrade always has the best speakers in the industry,” said Kevin Gaffney, group show director, Medtrade. “And while it’s true that we will certainly have a lot of familiar faces presenting at Medtrade, it’s also true that we are on the lookout for new blood, so feel free to pass along our ‘Call for Presentations’ to suitable candidates.”
To be considered, the program must be educational in nature, and ales presentations will not be accepted. The presentation’s material should be original, and information from third parties should reference their sources. For multiple speakers, each speaker must agree to these terms. Incomplete program submissions will not be considered.
Once presentations are submitted, Medtrade management and the event’s Educational Advisory Board (EAB) will evaluate them based on several criteria: timeliness of topic; overall content; audience level content is geared for; audience interest; creativity; prior speaking expertise; knowledge of subject matter; prior speaker evaluation results; and speaker references.
Sessions are either 1 hour or 1.5 hours in length, including a brief session for question and answer. Organizers will seek continuing education unit (CEU) accreditation for appropriate programs once they are selected.
In terms of general subject matter, presentations should address one of the Medtrade’s primary educational tracks:
- Audits
- Business Operations
- Competitive Bidding
- Continuing Education & Training
- Executive Leadership
- Keeping it Legal
- Retail/Caretail
- Sales & Marketing
- Sleep/Oxygen
- Strategic Planning
