Pride Mobility Products Corp. has promoted Seth Johnson to the role of senior vice president of government affairs.
An 18-year veteran of the mobility industry, Johnson started with Pride in 2004 as director of government affairs, where he used his prior experience on Capitol Hill to advocate for mobility-related policy to protect access to the care and life-sustaining technologies people with disabilities need.
Early into his Pride career, Johnson was appointed to serve on CMS’s DME Program Advisory and Oversight Committee (PAOC) in late 2004, where he worked for over four years to voice industry concerns and suggestions regarding competitive bidding and other thorny programs. He is also a member of the NCART, AAHomecare and Pennsylvania Association of Medical Suppliers (PAMS) Boards of Directors, and is active in many consumer organizations.
Most recently, as vice president of government affairs, Johnson served in a leadership role with industry coalitions in fighting to prevent 2016 cuts to complex rehab technology (CRT). He worked with legislators and stakeholders to protect CRT accessory payments via the Patient Access and Medicare Protection Act (S.2425), which President Obama signed into law on Dec. 28.
“In his elevated role, we are looking forward to Seth continuing his excellent work in advocating for those with disabilities and making strides to create an equitable regulatory environment for all,” Pride Chairman and CEO Scott Meuser said
