Home Access Products
Home access providers must build a bedrock foundation of product knowledge. Here are some of the latest offerings on the market.
In addition to cementing rock-solid referral network, home access providers must build a bedrock foundation of product knowledge, so that they can draw upon a range of access offerings in order to have the right solution for a client’s home access needs. Here are some of the latest offerings on the market:
Custom ramp solution designed to fit any home
Because nearly every house is unique, the Modular XP ramp system is deigned to offer a series of ramp modules that let providers create multiple combinations to fit a specific need. Ramp sections are welded in lengths of 4 feet, 5 feet, 6 feet, 7 feet and 8 feet that can be easily moved or reconfigured. Angles include 45 degree and 90 degree turns as well as switchbacks to ensure multiple configurations are possible. ADA handrail extensions, guardrails and gates available, and the system accommodates a rise up to 60 inches. All-aluminum construction makes the Modular XP durable and weather resistant, with little or no maintenance. Includes a limited lifetime warranty.

Flexible, safe access solution for thresholds
Offered as the final piece in the EZ-ACCESS threshold ramp family, the Transitions Angled Entry Plate comes in lengths of lengths of 8, 10, or 12 inches and a 32-inch width to ensure providers can give customers various threshold ramp options for safety and comfort throughout their homes. The single-piece aluminum plate can accommodate most mobility devices and offers key safety features, including a 700-pound weight capacity and applied slip-resistant surface.
All-modular wood ramp offers easy installation
This ADA-compliant, 36 in.-wide ramp offers easy installation, typically being installed in hours. Made of kiln-dried premium pressure treated southern yellow pine, the ramps prevent rotting and can be stained or painted to match the décor of the user’s home. Vertical pickets and steps are available, and the unique leg design maximizes structural integrity.
Portable, fold-up ramp for bariatric users
The Bariatric Multifold Ramp is a patented center joint hinge that eliminates a pinch point; adds strength; and lets the ramp fold and be carried like a suitcase. The ramp supports a maximum ramp capacity of 400 lbs. for one axle and 800 lbs. for two axles, and accommodates wheelchairs and scooters with various wheel configurations. A safety guide indicates if ramp is on a safe slope; a high-traction surface prevents slipping; and a closure strap locks ramp panels together.

Stairlift offers smooth operation, easy installation
The SL400 Vantage Stairlift was designed to provide smooth operation, constant speed, and comfortable seat design that folds to a slender 13.6 in. when not in use to allow others to pass comfortably. Additionally, stairlift’s design facilitates quick installation and delivery, using 20 percent fewer parts. It can be installed on the left or right hand of a stairway without reconfiguration and can adapt to a variety of staircases with provisions for a zero-overrun landing. The rack and pinion drive system can carry 300 lbs., and travels 18 feet per minute with smooth starts and stops and simple controls.
Inclined Platform Lifts Now Come in Five Standard Colors
Butler Mobility has updated the paint color choices for their line of Inclined Platform Lifts, which are designed to help wheelchair users continue living in homes that have staircases. Previously the two standard colors were beige and brown, but now the lift manufacturer is offering the lift in Autumn Brown, a deep dark brown; Weathered Chestnut, a medium brown; Sierra Foothills, a blend of brown and muted gray-green tint; Manor Stone Gray, a gray with brown undertones; and Coastal Beige, a deep beige.
